Women’s Wellness Yoga – Coming Home to Yourself
Meeting you where you are…
A softer approach to allow for the physical and emotional body to experience a deep healing and letting go. Connecting with ourselves, our femininity and Mother Earth, feeling our connection with her and with ourselves. This is a sublime practice that nourishes and nurtures, harmonising with our natural rhythms. Permission for rest included with yoga nidra. For all women, everywhere. Supports menstrual and menopause health, fertility, pre and post pregnancy…and all things woman.
During certain times, a softer practice is what is called for, and yoga specific for women meets us where we are at. Women’s wellness yoga was developed by women for women – is exactly what we need!
I have attended Nalini’s Women’s Yoga class and find it very relaxing and nurturing. Nalini’s focus on the feminine aspects of yoga practice is refreshing and affirming. I really enjoy the slow movements, breathing, and the guided relaxation with yoga nidra is particularly special. Nalini gives loving guidance with her gentle voice. She pays attention to each individual student’s needs. She introduces us to sacred practices to connect us with the Divine. Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative and integrative practice that takes us into the present moment which is the only moment we have. And while it may look like you are just lying down and deeply relaxing, it goes deeper than that. This is the practice where we really learn how to welcome and greet ourselves exactly as we are and can result in deep healing. Yoga Nidra provides tools for navigating life with a sense of calmness and peace, learning how to welcome and respond to whatever conditions arise, without the need to ‘fix’ anything. Through regular practice, we learn to live with a sense of ease that infiltrates into all areas of our lives.
Yoga Nidra as a tool for healing
Shock, trauma, pain, stress and anxiety impact the health of the nervous system and can lock us into a state of constant hyper-arousal that drains us of energy and enthusiasm. Regular practice of Yoga Nidra works on restoring the health of the nervous system and calming down the anxiety response, resulting in an increased sense of calmness and well-being. Yoga Nidra is also recognised for effective pain management and sleep disturbance.
One to One Sessions of Yoga Nidra
These sessions are a wonderful opportunity to work together, from a quiet space. By allowing quietness and taking our awareness inwards, whatever needs our attention can naturally surface and be welcomed in. We learn the technique of allowing things to be as they are, not needing to fix or change anything, and how to step into being the witnessing presence of our lives. We become present to what life has to tell us, and touch the base of inner peace and calmness that is our essential nature. During a session, we work with the breath, meditative self-inquiry and through the wisdom of the body. A sense of deep peace is usually experienced at the end of a session.
One to one sessions last an hour and cost £55. In person or via Skype.
