Women’s Yoga, Yoga Nidra, chanting, mudra, honouring the cycles of our own lives.  Our yoga needs to reflect where we are at – we need to change what we do at different times and really nourish what body, mind soul are calling for.

A monthly session to support you, exactly where and how you are in this moment.  Touching in with our essence, tuning in with the cycles we go through as a woman including menstrual, fertility, pre and post pregnancy and menopause.  These practices are gorgeously soft, relaxing and healing, encouraging us to connect with our femininity, our soul and our earth, giving ourselves precious, restorative time-out.

Ease into a sublime afternoon of deeply nourishing practices and melt into a state of deep rest and rejuvenation – full permission given!

We do too much and when we don’t take time to rest and restore, we diminish our energy, creativity and mind power.  We often run on low batteries and continue anyway, believing we need to keep going to get everything done.  The good news is that taking periods of deep rest and relaxation actually make us more productive, creative and happy!  Yayy!  So come along and be good to yourself and have a well-needed boost to your energy levels, relax your nervous system and let it all go… go on, you know you want to!

Nalini will share some great techniques you can do anytime, anywhere to bring relaxation and meditation into daily life. She has loads of experience as a meditation and yoga nidra teacher and shares her experience of living in a yoga community in Italy for many years.  She gets really passionate about doing nothing as a life skill! ( And the benefits of regular meditation and periods of rest in our lives).

    • An intro to meditation practice and using the breath to calm things down

Autumn Equinox, time of balance between day and night, has literally just passed us by to hint that we are heading towards winter.  So that makes it THE perfect time to get the bottles out, fill them up with all those amazing plants and herbs that Mamma Nature gives for free, and make some great remedies to naturally keep the winter colds away and boost our immune systems.  This time of year the Prairie Gardens are stunning – so this lovely workshop combines the practical with the mystical, and a meditative walk around the gardens will be on the menu too – before heading for the world-famous cakes that they make here!  What a perfect balance!

Nalini is specialised in this area and has her own line of natural products, cultivating a lot of the ingredients for them in her magical garden. She is also a meditation teacher and will share how meditative walking can bring some peace and calm into our lives. The menstrual cycle is empowering when we learn how to work with it and understand it at a deeper level.  This workshop teaches how to relate to our rhythms in a fascinating way – the seasons are embodied within us – tapping into them from a place of knowledge is a deeply healing act.

There is power in the cycle!

As we cycle through the month, we need different practices at different times.  This workshop explores practices developed for women by women, to work in harmony with our cycle.  There will be an educational element where you will learn some fascinating stuff about menstrual cycle awareness, and also info on which practices to avoid and which to embrace.  Women’s bodies and rhythms need yoga and relaxation options that will nourish and revitalise, as well as reduce or eliminate some of the common symptoms that can leave you feeling off kilter, including PMT and menstrual pain.

The wheel of the season turns and we arrive at deep mid-winter…time of glittering ground and misty sighs as the earth enters her deepest state of slumber and rest, getting ready for renewal and rebirth. So, what’s in it for us?? Well, rest and renewal of course!

This magical time of year offers us the possibility to follow Mamma Nature’s superb wisdom and slooooow right down and turn inwards a little. Taking a day to ourselves, to meditate, reflect, journal and just breathe…is a balm to body, mind and spirit. Taking time out of everyday life to retreat from the world and its demands gives us the chance to see where the path of life is taking us,to ponder, dream and deeply rest. Connecting with our hearts and souls and easing into being instead of doing.

The day will include meditations, chanting, Yoga Nidra, a delve into the true meaning of Christmas, reflection, a period of silence and a life-affirming candlelit ritual to conclude (along with mince pies of course!)

Beat the stress of Christmas and give yourself a day of precious peacefulness and time out.

The retreat is held in a private home in the Surrey Hills countryside close to Reigate. The main space has fire and will be alight with candles and full of coziness. Weather permitting, the gardens and woodlands surrounding the house will make for a breath of fresh air and a meditative walk in nature.

Refreshments provided, bring your own lunch. Eating lightly is recommended during meditation retreats.
