Paramhansa Yogananda – sharing his teachings through community and groups
Nestled in the hills of Umbria, Italy, is the European Ananda Yoga Centre, a peaceful guest retreat centre and community that lives and shares the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. I lived here for many years and continue to be an active member of the Ananda community here in England, holding regular meditation meetups and a yearly weekend retreat (with Leon Deith, Yogaananda, Reigate). Ananda Italy hold many courses and it is a truly joyful place to visit and enter into a community spirit whilst practicing yoga and meditation. There is no part of life that meditation cannot improve and learning to meditate brings us in deeper contact with ourselves and with the Divine.

Above all, Yogaananda is probably best known as the author of the spiritual classic ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’, a fascinating and deeply inspiring account of his life and the deeper aspects of yoga. A worthy read for anyone, and a delve into the true meaning of yoga for any student of yoga or meditation. Written with great wit and humour, it is a treasure that grows richer with each reading.

The Abbey Retreat Centre, Oxfordshire
A weekend of meditation, nature and silence periods led by Nalini and Leon Deith. A relaxing and inspiring weekend which includes morning and evening meditations, satsang and kirtan.
This is our third retreat and we welcome anyone who is interested in meditation and taking a weekend out to nourish the soul and have some peaceful, quiet time with other like-minded people.
Retreat runs from 4pm Friday to 3pm Sunday. Single room options available and excellent vegetarian food!
